Cheshire Constabulary calling on the public’s help to decide which officers and staff are worthy of an ACE Award.
The ACE (Achieving Cheshire Excellence) Awards are the Constabulary's highest accolades, which are awarded to an individual or team who have gone that extra mile or demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the ‘We're Here' pillars of policing in Cheshire.
And for the first time, this year the public is invited to help determine who in their community has truly been ACE!
The four categories that are going to public vote are:
- Putting the Public First - This award aims to identify an individual or team that has acted above and beyond the call of duty in putting the public first.
- Community Engagement - This award will go to an individual or team who has worked with local people to ensure their ideas and joint work contributed to positive changes within the community.
- Community Thank You - Awarded to members of the public (either an individual or group) who have worked with the police to provide assistance in bringing an offender to justice or local community problem solving.
- PCSO of the Year - The PCSO of the year award recognises outstanding service, over and above what is required as part of their role.
A glittering gala ceremony will take place on Thursday 15th September at the Carden Park hotel in Broxton. All nominees will attend the evening, during which the winners will be revealed.
Chief Constable Simon Byrne said: "These awards are a great way of recognising individuals or teams who have gone that extra mile, giving them the recognition they undoubtedly deserve.
"We have some truly outstanding officers and staff here in Cheshire, and I want to encourage members of the public to get involved and have their say on who they think deserves special recognition for the work they have done in the communities of Cheshire.
Police & Crime Commissioner David Keane said: "Having been able to spend time with officers, staff and volunteers, I am always impressed by the work undertaken to keep our communities safe, and humbled by the commitment shown. The ACE Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise this hard work.
"It is only right that we celebrate those who embody the very best in public service. Recognition and praise is crucial in ensuring that everyone involved in the Constabulary stays driven and continues to deliver the best possible policing service for our communities."
