Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, David Keane expressed his thanks to all those who give up their free time to help keep Cheshire safe during a special ‘Volunteers Appreciation event yesterday, Sunday 4 June.

The Commissioner was joined by Chief Constable Simon Byrne, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sareda Dirir, Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire David Briggs, and High Sheriff of Cheshire Sarah Callandar Beckett for a special luncheon and presentation held at Cheshire Police HQ in Winsford.

The event coincided with National Volunteers Week and brought together hard working and dedicated volunteers from both the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Cheshire Constabulary, to personally thank them for the commitment they give to Cheshire.

David said: “When talking to the volunteers at the Volunteer Appreciation event, I was really humbled by the commitment and dedication they bring to helping make Cheshire a safer place to live.

“It is really important to me to recognise the amazing contribution these members of the public bring to policing, and what better way to do that than by bringing them all together and saying thank you in person.

“I would like to say a massive thank you for all the hard work and commitment that all of our volunteers, including special officers give – they really do provide a truly valuable service to our Cheshire communities.”
