Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, David Keane is saying a big thank you to all those who give up their free time to help keep Cheshire safe.

The Commissioner will be hosting a special ‘Volunteers Appreciation’ event with the theme ‘You Make a Difference’.

The event will take place on Sunday 4 June and will coincide with National Volunteers Week.

Joined by Chief Constable Simon Byrne, the event will bring together all Police Staff Volunteers who provide valuable support for the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner and the Constabulary.

The event will ensure volunteers are recognised and thanked for their hard work and commitment.

Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, David Keane said: “I am absolutely delighted to be hosting this event to recognise the amazing contribution these members of the public give to policing during this year’s National Volunteers Week.

“The event will give me an opportunity to say a big wholehearted thank you to all the volunteers for their dedication, and express how important their contribution is to keeping Cheshire’s communities safe.

“Our volunteers bring a wealth of different skills and experiences to their roles and there is no doubt in my mind that they are vital in ensuring the Constabulary are able to provide an effective and efficient police service.

“I would like want to say a massive thank you for all the hard work and commitment that all of our volunteers, including special officers, give to both the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Constabulary – providing a truly valuable service to our Cheshire communities.

“We are always looking for more volunteers and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone who is thinking of volunteering for either the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner or the Constabulary, to get in touch.”
